This book is about a boy named Artemis Fowl who gets an e-mail from the Russian Mafia saying that they have his father and want $5,000,000 for him. Artemis is about to go rescue his father when Captain Holly Short of the LEP Fairy Police captures him. She brings Artemis and his body guard, Butler, to the Police Plaza to see if he is the human giving the B'wa Kell Goblin Gang AA batteries to power illegal soft-nose lasers. Artemis is innocent, so who is doing this? Goblins, who are about as stupid as trolls, have built a ship. Some fairy is helping the B'wa Kell. If he or she is not stopped, all of the fairy and human world will be conquered by goblins. Will Artemis, Holly, Commander Root (Holly's boss), and Butler solve this mystery and stop the person who is helping the goblins? If they do will they rescue Artemis' father or will they be too late?

I like the adventure in this book. How many 13 year olds do you know who are willing go out of their manor to stop goblins from conquering the fairy world? If you are looking for a book where the hero isn't always good, then you’ll enjoy Artemis, a criminal mastermind, a hero, yes, perfect, no!

For better enjoyment of this book, I suggest you read the first book in this series, Artemis Fowl. You also enjoy will enjoy the third book in the series called Artemis Fowl and the Eternity Code.

Artemis Fowl is a criminal mastermind. A 13-year-old one! This is the second book in the series. Artemis needs to restore his family's wealth, but the Russian Mafia has kidnapped his father. Artemis needs to save him. Down near the earth's core live the fairies who are enemies of Artemis because he stole some of their gold, and gold is very important to fairies. The fairy world is being taken over by a military official named Cudgeon, so the fairies need help too. Artemis joins forces with the fairies to help them stop Cudgeon and the B'wa Kell, (a group of bad goblins) and the fairies help Artemis to try to save his father. Will Mr. Fowl be saved? Will Cudgeon and the B'wa Kell be stopped? Read this awesome book to find out!

Artemis Fowl is a 13-year-old criminal mastermind. He is away at boarding school when he  receives an urgent video e-mail from Russia . It is a plea from a man who has been kidnapped by the Russian Mafia - a man Artemis had never thought he would ever see again - his father. As Artemis tries to save him, he is stopped by a familiar nemesis, Captain Holly Short from the LEPrecon, the Fairy Police. But this time, they will have to join forces if Artemis is going to save one of the only people in the world he truly loves.

I really loved this book because I enjoy  action, adventure, and magic. I highly recommend it and give it an 11 on a scale from one to ten. Artemis Fowl - The Arctic Incident is the second of three books in a series. I recommend reading the first one, called Artemis Fowl, before this one.

Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident is about a billionaire boy genius.  The whole plot of the book is Artemis finding his father.  He joins up with the fairies including: Holly, Commander Root, and Foally.  In the book they go to Russia to fight the Russian mafia.  The Russian mafia are the people who are keeping Artemis' dad.

This is a great book.  I started it and I couldn't put it down.  I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.  If you like Adventure and fantasy you will love this book.  Between the first one and this one, this one is my favorite.
