The Art of Keeping Cool by
Janet Taylor Lisle is about a boy named Robert who lives in Newport,
Rhode Island, a navy town, during WWII. Robert’s dad
flies for the RAF. There is a man who lives in town who
is a German named Able Hoffman. Able was forced to come to
America because he was not a Nazi. The same discrimination seems to
be happening in RI.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes WWII or
suspense. The description of the war activity is very
interesting.
