This book is about three siblings who have terrible lives. Their parents die in a house fire, and their next door neighbor becomes responsible for them. His name is Mr. Poe. Mr. Poe decides to look for the closest relative to take care of them. He finds one of their uncles- Count Olaf. Since the kids' parents die, all of their money, which is a lot, goes to their oldest child, Violet. Count Olaf is a very greedy, mean man. He wants to marry Violet so he can steal all of her money.

You will have to read the book to see if sneaky Count Olaf steals Violet's money and becomes rich.

I recommend this book to people who like mysteries and to people who like books that have bad guys in them. This is a good book because after every chapter you want to read another.

I liked this book. It is very interesting and has a lot of suspense. It feels as though I am the character in their suspense. It is a very sad book, and I don't know if I will continue the series because it is almost too sad. I think Lemony Snicket goes over the top with sadness!

The Bad Beginning is about the three Baudelaire children, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. Their parents have an enormous fortune. When their parents die in a horrible fire, the fortune is left to the children. However, the children can only use the fortune after the oldest child, Violet comes of age. Because they are now orphans they have to go live with their closest relative, Count Olaf. Count Olaf is a horrible man. He plans on stealing their fortune. Count Olaf is smarter than the children think. Read the book to see if Count Olaf gets away with the Baudelaire fortune.

This book is about the three Baudelaire orphans whose parents die in a fire that burns down their whole house. The children's names are Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. Violet is a 14-year-old girl who loves to invent things. Klaus, her brother, is a 12-year-old boy who is fascinated with books. And little Sunny, their little sister, is just an infant who loves to bite things. After the fire the children are sent to live with a "relative" named Count Olaf. Count Olaf is their new guardian, but he is very mean and selfish, and makes the children do chores all day. He plans to steal the enormous Baudelaire fortune that their parents left behind. Count Olaf attempts several times to get rid of the orphans, but is unsuccessful. Finally, Count Olaf plans to marry Violet to get his hands on the fortune. Will that happen? Will the wedding continue? Well, if you want to find out, then you have to read the book!

On a scale from 1-10 (10 being the best) I rate this book a 7 because the book is very exciting and has an interesting plot. I recommend this book to people who like unhappy and very unfortunate events.

The Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket is a great series.  i have the pleasure of reviewing the first one, The Bad Beginning.  It is about three children, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire and their unfortunate adventures.  In this book their parents die and they are forced to live with their uncle, Count Olaf.  In the book they find out that he is not really their uncle.  He is just saying that so he can marry Violet and take their family fortune.  (I forgot to mention  that they are really rich.  Read the book to find out what happens next.

A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket is about three children: Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire. The Baudelaires are spending the day at Briny Beach when Mr. Poe, a family friend, comes to tell them that a fire killed both their parents.  The rest of the book is about how the Baudelaires must live with an evil distant relative, Count Olaf, who wants their fortune.  Will Count Olaf be able to pull off a plot to trick the children to gain control over the fortune?

I recommend this book to any one who likes suspense.

The book I read is called The Bad Beginning. A Series Of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket.

I enjoyed this book, because it is adventurous, exciting and realistic. It is like everything is pieced together. This book is happy and sad at the same time. It was one of those kind of books where you can't put it down. It was like bad things were happening one after another. It is interesting to see how the three children solved it.

I recommend this book to all ages. It is a wonderful book.

This story is about 3 children .They have to live with their mean uncle because their parents died. He sets up a play so that he can get all of the family's money. The oldest girl is set up to marry the uncle in the play for real.  There is a real judge in the play and they are using real marriage papers . The kids figure out what he is doing, so in the play the girl signs the marriage papers with her left hand instead of her right hand . She is not married to him because the  law states that the paper must be signed with the brides own hand. You might think now that everything is okay but they still have to find someone to live with since their uncle goes to jail.

The book The Bad Beginning in The Series of Unfortunate Events is about three young children Violet-14, Klaus-12, and Sunny, who is an infant who loves to bite things.  In the story the three get a message from a friend of theirs while they are at the beach saying that their parents had died.  They then have to go to live with their closest relative.  The relative’s name is Count Olaf.  He is a Count and at the same time he is an actor.  Count Olaf is a mean man and he wants to get hold of the Baudelaire fortune (the children’s parents were very rich) and will do anything for it.

If you want to see if Count Olaf succeeds, you have to read the book
P.S. If you are the kind of person who prefers books with happiness in them you’ll probably to go off reading some other book because not only does it have a non-happy start, it has a non-happy middle, and a non-happy ending.

Dear Reader,

The Bad Beginning is the first book in the in this Series of Unfortunate Events. In this book the characters are Violet, who is an inventor, Klaus, who is genius, and Sunny, who a baby that likes to bite things. This story and the other books in the series are very suspenseful. The Bad Beginning begins when the three orphans are on the beach and Mr. Poe, their parent's best friend, tells them that their house burned down and that their parents are dead. Now you're probably saying to yourself "who the heck would want to read a book like that?!?" and I felt like that when I read the first chapter too... but when I read the rest of the book I was glad that I finished it.

Later, they all go to live with their long lost relative the charming and dashing ( YEAH RIGHT) Count Olaf. He seems sweet in the beginning but you soon will find out that he is not, he's........

READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!!!

He chooses their uncle, Count Olaf. But Count Olaf is only after their fortune. He plans to marry Violet in a play he's putting on called "The Marvelous Marriage."  Klaus finds out Count Olaf's plan to steal their fortune and stays up all night reading about inheritance laws.  And then he ...  I can't tell you.  You will have to read the book.

The Bad Beginning is about three children -- Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire. When their parents die in a fire, they go from one unfortunate event to another. Their parent's friend, Mr.Poe, is a banker who takes care of the Bauderlaire fortune until Violet is old enough to inherit it. The parent's will clearly states that the children live with their closest relative. It happens that Count Olaf is this relative. He is a horrid man and makes the children do horrible chores and cook dinner for him and his colleagues. He is always trying to get his hands on their fortune and he thinks of a plan. Since he is an actor, he is going to hold a play which is called "The Marvelous Marriage." He plans on having Violet be the woman who marries him in this play. But this is no ordinary play. Once Count Olaf marries Violet, he intends to steal the Baudelaire fortune and then kill the evidence, the children. But these children are extremely clever and they find out about his mischievous plan and stop it, thank goodness! Count Olaf escapes, unfortunately, before the police can get him.

The book is very exciting and I enjoyed it a lot!

This story is about 3 very intelligent children. They are charming, and not very lucky kids. The three children's names are Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire. It starts out when they are on the beach and they hear bad news from a man named Mr. Poe. This man takes them to their cousin 3 times removed, so they can live with him. His name is Count Olaf. This man tries to take the Baudelaire children's money. He asks Violet to marry him in a play that he is in. What does Violet do? You have to read the book to find out what Violet does about the play and what happens to Klaus and Sunny.

After the sudden death of their parents in a fire, the Baudelaire children are forced to live with a wicked distant relative named Count Olaf. This is the first, but by no means the only horrible misfortune that fourteen-year-old Violet, twelve-year-old Klaus, and Baby Sunny experience throughout the course of the story. After a short time of sharing only one bed in Olaf’s pigsty of a house, and being cruelly ordered around like slaves, the children uncover Olaf’s devious scheme to steal their inheritance. The children must use their wits and resources to escape the trap the evil Olaf has set for them.

This book is surprisingly very funny and entertaining. I would highly recommend The Bad Beginnings. It combines many things I love in a book - humor, action, adventure, and characters who really come alive.

The Bad Beginning is a book about three little kids whose parents died in a house fire so they all have to go live with their closest relative, Count Olaf. Count Olaf is very mean, rude, and his house is a mess. He is not nice to them and he is trying to get a hold of the Baudelaire fortune. He tries to get the money by performing an act where he gets married to Violet, the sister. Violet says, "I do," and now Count Olaf thinks that he has their fortune in his hands, but really he doesn’t. He escapes from the village when he turns out the lights in the studio. If you want to know what happens next you are going to have to read this. This is the first book of a series of seven called: A Series of Unfortunate Events.

The Bad Beginning is about three children, Violet, (the oldest sister) Klaus, (the brother) and Sunny, (the younger sister). One day they find out that their parents have died. At this unfortunate news, the children must go live with someone else. They are given to a person named Count Olaf. The only reason Count Olaf wants to take care of them is to get their deceased parents' money. He makes the children do many chores. He makes them be in a play where Violet has to marry him, but it is for real. He then has control of the money. Please read this book to find out if Count Olaf really gets the money or not.

I thought this book was very good. Mr. Snicket is a very good writer and has good characterization. He makes these characters so real because he thinks like the character. I am going to read another one of his books because this one was well written. If I were to grade this on scale of one to ten, I would give it a ten.
