The book, The Birth of Firebringer, is about
Jan, a unicorn who is the son of the prince. He tries to become
initiated and accepted as a warrior. He can't because of his
mischievous games. He finally gains the pride of his father, so is
allowed to go. He gets lost and the Healer, who had sung away his
dreams, returns them to the herd. Jan didn't see his dream so he ran
away, and eventually went into the wyverns caves. He and his friends Tak
and Dagg kill the mistress of the wyverns fire, and in the end Jan
realizes he is the Firebringer, the one who is meant to save the
unicorns and lead them into battle for their ancestral homes which were
stolen by the wyverns.
