The Boxes is about a girl named Annie and a boy named Henry trying to save their houses from Crutchley, the man who’s trying to break down the neighborhood so he can build a mall and make tons of money.

It starts when Annie’s uncle Marco leaves her two boxes, one is wooden and one is metal. He tells Annie not to open the boxes nor show Annie’s Aunt Ruth. But Annie opens them and finds things of great power  - enough to save the neighborhood, yet destroy it as well if it falls in the wrong hands. Annie and Henry will have to sneak into the Cructhley Development and make some price typos.

Annie, a girl whose parents died, goes to live with her Aunt. Crutchley Development tries to get them to sell their house but her Aunt does not want to sell it.

When her uncle goes on vacation he leaves two boxes, which he says not to open. But after he leaves, Annie thinks one peek won’t hurt.

What is in the boxes? What happens to Annie when she opens the boxes? Also, there are creatures building a palace in the basement of the house. The creatures’ king is a clock with the power to slow down time. How are the creatures in the basement related to the boxes in this unpredictable sci-fi?
