Do you ever wonder how Roald Dahl got some of his ideas to write his books? Maybe they have to do with his crazy childhood adventures - like when his nose was almost cut clean off of his face, or when he decided to get revenge on the sweetshop keeper, Mrs. Pratchett.  Roald Dahl met many extremely cruel people in his childhood and a couple of them sound a lot like Ms. Trunchbull from one of Roald Dahl’s tales, Matilda. Many more surprises, gruesome and funny popped up in his childhood, but you’ll have to read the book to find out.

I read a book called Boy, by Roald Dahl. The book is about all of Roald Dahl's childhood. The book says things about his father when Roald's dad was a kid.  The book also has information about all of Roald's headmasters and how they caned him a lot.  That is a bad punishment.  The book tells about his schools that he went to in his childhood. The book says things about all of his vacations to Norway.  Norway is where he was born, but he lived in Wales.  It says things about "Goats Tobacco." (You have to read the book to know what that is.) Boy says things about "Gobstopers."  (Again, you have to read the book to know what I mean.)

I like this book because it is funny and interesting.  I recommend this book to people that like funny biographies.

Boy is a book of tales about Roald Dahl's childhood.  It has some very funny, remarkable, and true stories like "The Great Mouse Plot,"  "Mrs.Pratchett's Revenge,"   "Goat's Tobacco,"  and many more.  Roald Dahl shows his emotions through writing in his tales.  Sometimes he is funny and happy, and  then he becomes serious.   You can never tell what to expect!

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes funny stories and details.  Roald Dahl is a very talented writer and it 's fun learning about his childhood.  I enjoyed this book very much and would definitely recommend it.
