I read the fiction book The Carnivorous Carnival
by Lemony Snicket. This is the 9th book in the series called "A
Series of Unfortunate Events". This book starts with the Baudelaire
orphans in the trunk of Count Olaf's car. The Baudelaires end up at a
carnival where they find Count Olaf's friend, Madame Lulu. As always
Count Olaf is up to no good trying to kill them and steal their family
fortune. This time, instead of Count Olaf dressing up, the Baudelaires
do. The orphans disguise themselves as carnival freaks to keep from
being caught. Like all the books in this series the orphans are in for
a tough time suffering one misfortune after another. They never know
what's coming next.
I recommend this book to kids that have read the
first eight books in this series and that enjoy suspense and tragedy.
I like the way that Lemony Snicket puts so much suspense in his
stories that you can't put them down

This book is the 9th book in a series by
Lemony Snicket. It is about the three Baudelaire orphans who end up
at a carnival in the Hinterlands, which is like the middle of
nowhere. Count Olaf (a man who has been after the fortune the
Baudelaire's parents left for the children when they died, for a
long time) and his theatre troop are there too, so the Baudelaires
decide to disguise themselves as freaks and ask to join the
carnival. The owner of the carnival, Madam Lulu lets them join the
house of freaks but when Madam Lulu adds a new attraction to the
carnival, the children don't know what to do. Every day, one
of the freaks from the house of freaks is going to be thrown into a
pit of lions and eaten alive! Violet, Klaus, and Sunny need to find
a way out of the carnival, and find out if the rumors true that one
of their parent is alive!
I would recommend this book to anyone who has
read any of Lemony Snicket's other books.

Matthew P. '10 What's happening to the Baudelaires now? They
always get away from Count Olaf, but can they do it this time? Violet, Klaus, and
Sunny meet some new friends on the way. Where are they now? They're at
Caligari Carnival. Count Olaf and his gang go there because a fortune teller called
Madame LuLu tells him where the Baudelaires are. Will Count Olaf know who they are
with their unusual disguises? Read this "really sad" book to find out.

| Reviewer: Alex P. '10 I'm sure everybody has read one of the
books in the Series of Unfortunate Events and has liked it. Well, in case you haven't I'll
tell you what they are about. The books are about three kids (Violet,Sunny and Klaus) who
have bad luck all of the time. This particular one is about how they travel to a weird
carnival. They pretend to be freaks and get into the carnival. While they are there they
see the evil Count Olaf, who is trying to steal their fortune. The kids find out that one
of their parents survived the fire that destroyed their mansion. Will they find him or
her? Find out when you read The Carnivorous Carnival, book number nine in
the Series of Unfortunate Events.
