This book is about a 10 year old boy named William who loves  gymnastics, and his Nanny, Ms. Phillips who helped raise him from a baby.  Now She is leaving home for England and  William desperately wants her to stay.  He vows that he won't let her go away, but first, his goodbye present! He receives a beautiful toy castle with lots of elaborate designs. The castle only comes with one thing to go with it: A silver knight. When William picks it up it instantly comes to life! The Silver Knight "Sir Simon" tells the tale of his life and wishes for company. Oh, I forgot to mention, Sir Simon was a real person put under the spell of the evil wizard Alastor. And he still has the magic coins that Alastor used to shrink him!  Ms. Phillips is great company for anyone, even Sir Simon! How will William keep her here in America? Read this book and find out!

On a scale of 1-10 1 being the best I would rate this book a 1 because there was never a dull moment. Also, I recommend this book to everyone who likes adventure and a light read.

The Castle In The Attic is about a boy named William. He just got a present from Mrs. Phillips his neighbor. Mrs. Phillips has known William since he was born and they have been really close friends. She is moving and she wanted to get William a really special going away gift. She brought the gift to William’s house and placed it in the attic and then went to get William. William came up to the attic to see what she was talking about and he saw it. It was castle, a huge castle. There were knights and gadgets. While William was playing with the knights Mrs. Phillips described all the parts of the castle to William. William put the knight in his hand and closed his hand. When William opened his hand the knight had come alive! The knight, Sir Simon, started talking to William. He told William stories about wizards, magic and dragons, during the time that he lived. William and Sir Simon go back in time, a time when Sir Simon lived.

William’s aunt, Mrs. Phillips, is moving back to England. She has given him a wooden model of a medieval castle, which is his farewell present. Even though William adores it, he still can’t help dreading Mrs. Phillip’s departure. When William starts playing with the castle, he breaks the spell on the silver knight. Alastor, who casts the spell, is a wicked wizard, who has taken over the knight’s throne. After William finds out that he has broken the spell using a token that makes all living creatures small, he uses the token on Mrs. Phillips. William then takes her to the castle, where she won’t eat or sleep until he turns himself small. After he does that, he sets out on an adventure, where he must defeat Alastor and help the silver knight gain his rightful place on the throne.
