'10 The Chocolate Touch by
Patrick Skene Catling is about a boy named John Midas who loves
chocolate. One day while he is walking, he finds a coin with his
initials and a boy on it. The initials are "J.M.". He picks up the
coin and goes into a chocolate store. The owner of the store says he
will trade John a box of chocolate for the coin. The book is mainly
about John eating the box of chocolate, which makes everything taste
like chocolate. I won't tell you the end because I want you to read it
for yourself. I recommend this book to people who like chocolate and I
rate it a "8".

'10I read a book called The
Chocolate Touch, by Patrick Skene Catling. This book is about a
boy named John who is addicted to chocolate. One day when he is
walking to his friend's house, he finds a little coin. He keeps
walking along and finds a candy store. When the storekeeper welcomes
him, he tells John that the coin that he has is the only kind of money
he takes. John gets a box of chocolate, and when he goes to bed he
rips open the box to only find one single chocolate. The next day when
he is brushing his teeth, the tooth paste turns into chocolate. His
breakfast then turns into chocolate. Then his trumpet, lunch,
pencil, a doctor's spoon, and finally his mother all turn into
chocolate. Does John like all the chocolate in his life? Read to find
out.
I would recommend this book to people who like
funny books, and people who like chocolate, especially to third and
fourth graders. I would rate this book a nine.

| Reviewer: Ben F. '09 John loves chocolate so much that he wishes for everything to
be made out of chocolate. His wish comes true. Anything his lips touch becomes
chocolate. He tries to get a drink of water, but it turns to chocolate. Although he
loves chocolate so much, he is getting tired of it. His mouth is getting
dry. He needs liquid, but if he tries to drink something it turns to chocolate,
SOLID CHOCOLATE! You have to read the book to find out what happens when he kisses
his mother!
I recommend this book to chocolate lovers who like a
lot of humor and suspense. But remember ... be careful what you wish for, because it
might come true.

| Reviewer: Kelly K. '09 Henry Green loves
chocolate and eats so much of it. One day on his way to school he sees a brown bump on his
skin. It looks like a pimple so he doesn't touch it. Then more and more brown bumps start
sprouting and then start popping. He also notices that he smells like
chocolate. It is so strange. The school nurse doesn't know what it is,
so she calls the hospital. But they don't know what it is either.
They make up a name for this sickness and call it Chocolate Fever. Now
I can't tell you any more or I will spoil it for you.

Kirstie K. '08 The Chocolate Touch is about a boy named John, who likes chocolate.
All he wants to eat is chocolate and he never shares it. One day he goes to a mysterious
store and buys a piece of magical candy that makes everything that goes into his mouth
turns into chocolate. Will he get sick of chocolate? This is a great book. Read it and
find out.
