Corduroy, an unwanted teddy bear, lives in a large department store  until one day a little girl named Lisa sees Corduroy and has to have him.  Lisa's mother refuses to buy the bear for her because he is missing a button.

That night when the store is closed Corduroy begins his scavenger hunt for his lost button.  Being unsuccessful Corduroy is brought back to his shelf on the first floor.  Lisa returns the next day and succeeds in buying him.  She takes him home and sews on a button.  Corduroy now has his first home!

I have always liked this book because it makes you feel good and warm inside.
