This third book
in the Pyrate Series is about a boy named George and his four
friends who find and follow a treasure map to Captain Kidd’s
long lost treasure. In this book, The Dead Man’s
Chest, George meets a boy, named Paul, who is homeless.
Paul helps George and his friends try to find the treasure.
But what they find are more map pieces which must be placed
together in order to complete a full map. George and his friends
try to find the treasure before the Thugs who are also looking
for the treasure. George ends up finding out that the Thug
leader was a seemingly friendly neighbor. He and the boys
have to sail through underground lakes and escape numerous
booby traps to find the third map piece. George has to separate
from his crew because they fear that the trip is too dangerous.
The only one that does not give up is Paul. George and Paul
have to be even more careful now because it is down to just
two of them. They bravely set out together in search of the
treasure.
On a scale from
one to ten I give this book a ten. This book is just as good
as the first two and I just could not put it down. A great
series!
