| Theres trouble at the Xanthos School
when five young students from the school discover their teacher bound and gagged. Also,
someone has scrawled,"Caius is a Dumbbell" on one of the temples. Their friend,
Rufus had written it as a joke at the school the day before, to make fun of a fellow
student. Everyone suspects Rufus of the attack on the teacher, but the boys know he is
innocent. They try to figure out who did it. I think this book was very lively and
fast-paced. Some parts made me sit on the edge of my seat, especially the visits to the
strange soothsayer. I liked this book a lot, and would recommend it to people who enjoy
historical fiction, mystery, and action. Spring 2001 |
