| Dump Days, by Jerry Spinelli, one
of my favorite authors, is about two boys, Duke and J.D. who are on summer vacation. One
day, they start to think about having a perfect day, where they will do all of their
favorite things. They think up all sorts of ways to make money for their "perfect
day." But soon something happens that makes them change how they spend their money,
and it might suprise you. This is a great book. I can
definitely relate to the two boys enjoying their summer vacation.The book also mentioned
some characters from Maniac Magee, another great Spinelli book. I like how
Spinelli refers to Finsterwald, the Pickwells, Grayson, and even Maniac himself.
If you like books by Jerry Spinelli, Dump Days will be one
of your favorites.
