The Fairy Rebel
is an entertaining fairy tale with characters that all have
different ways of expressing themselves. Tiki, the fairy, knows
that the queen forbids the fairies to use their magical powers
on humans. But, when Tiki finds herself on Jan's foot she can't
resist Jan's cry for a baby girl. Now it's up to Tiki to fill
Jan's heart with love and joy. Tiki takes a great risk trying
to avoid the queen's commands. Does the queen know that Tiki
is using her powers on a human? Will Tiki be able to defend
herself from the queen and still make Jan happy?

The book I'm going to tell you about is
The Fairy Rebel by Lynne Reid Banks. I think The Fairy
Rebel is a great book because it makes you think a lot,
like you'll ask questions to yourself wondering if everything
is going to be all right, or if the problem will ever be solved.
However, it is written in 3rd person which I don't like because
I think it would have been easier to follow in the first person.
If you're a person who likes to read books
with reality and a bit of fantasy, this book is for you. But
if you're like me who likes books written in first person,
it's not bad because the author uses excruciating detail so
you can picture everything even without the main character
telling the story. If I had to rate this book from 1 to 10
(ten being the best) I would rate it a 9 because some parts
were a little confusing and boring.

In Fairy Rebel there is a woman named Jan who wants to have a baby very
badly, but is afraid that the baby could inherit her leg problem. Her husband, Charlie
worries about this, too. So they do not have a baby, although they would like one very
much. One day while Jan is sitting in the garden she feels something land on her nose. At
first she thinks that it is a bug, but soon is excited to see that it is not a bug. It is
a fairy. The fairy's name is Tiki. Tiki is rather plump, and by accident landed on her
nose while playing a game. Tiki tells Jan that she has magical powers and can make wishes
come true. Jan wishes for a baby and describes her wish to Tiki. Tiki says that this is
possible, and that soon a baby girl will come. But when the evil fairy queen finds out,
many different things happen - some very bad things. Finally when the baby is born, Jan
and Charlie notice that she has some blue hairs. "Oh well," they think. But when
times get rough will the little blue hairs help? You must read the book to find out.
I really liked this book a lot and recommend it to anybody who likes
magical stories. I rate this book a 9 on a scale from 1 to 10 and hope that you will enjoy
it as much as I did.
