Five Go to Smuggler’s Top, which is one of the books in The Famous Five series, is about four children and a dog who go on adventures.  In this story, which is set in England, the five go to a place called Smuggler’s Top.  They are planning to stay at their aunt and uncle’s for their school vacation,  but when a gale forces a tree to fall on Kirrin Cottage (their aunt and uncle’s house,) their plans change and they need to stay with other family friends at Smuggler’s Top.  There they learn about secret passages and smugglers who are signaling out to sea to do their dirty work.
