Title:  Flight of the Dragon Kyn
Author:  Susan Fletcher
Reviewer:   Stephanie A. '08

There once was a girl, Kara, who grew to become a legend! At the age of four Kara came down with vermillion fever. After weeks of trying to cure her, Kara’s parents left her at the entrance of a cave. A month later their only daughter came walking in the door, as healthy as ever. Many people made up stories of what they thought had happened in that month, but the most popular was that a dragon had lived in that cave and had cured her with her dragon’s milk! Legend has it that people with green eyes like Kara’s can talk to dragons.

Now, eleven years later Kara is able to talk to birds. Perhaps that is why the king has sent for her. Does he believe that she can call down dragons? Can a huge dragon be related to a sweet, tiny bird? Now she has to decide between the death of her human friends and the death of the dragons that saved her life because if she doesn’t call down the dragons for the king to kill, he will kill her friends!
