| Title: Gentle Annie: The
True Story of a Civil War Nurse |
| Author:
Mary Francis Shura |
Reviewer: Hanna

This book is about Annie Etheridge who, at 16 years
old, enlists in the Union Army. She has to cook and sew and do the
laundry. All the others complain but Annie sticks to it. When they
go to fight, they all leave. Annie is loved by the soldiers
and they call her "Gentle Annie."
This book is quite interesting. Annie's real
name is Anna B. Etheridge. It is really cool how the author made it
feel like you are really watching the war
