Title:  George C. Marshall, Soldier and Statesman
Author:  Harold Faber
Reviewer:   Kevin W. ’08

This book is a biography of General George C. Marshall. He was such a magnificent man,   President Truman once said about him:

"He was the greatest general since Robert E. Lee. He was the greatest administrator since Thomas Jefferson. He was the man of honor, the man of truth, the man of greatest ability. He was the greatest of the great of our time."

George Catlett Marshall, Jr. was one of the great American heroes of the 20th century. In World War II he was Chief of Staff of the Army, and went on to do other great things for our country and the world. He wrote the Marshall Plan, which involved children getting a better education and which helped reconstruct Europe after World War II.

If you want to learn more about this interesting and important figure in American history read George C. Marshall, Soldier and Statesman. This book was good because it completely described his life. Some parts of his life I felt were unnecessary to mention and made the biography boring at times.
