Ghost
Fox is a story that takes place in China around 900 A.D.
A girl lives in a southern village and her father is going
out to sea. He does not know when he will be back. When she
and her mother go to say good-bye, the girl meets a man who
is selling boxes. He tells the girl to buy one, but she does
not. He threatens her saying that she will regret it if she
does not. She still does not believe the man and walks away.
That night she sees the man walking behind her house. She
quickly warns her mother about this, but when her mother looks
out the window, nothing is there but a fox. Her mother starts
to go crazy and abuses the girl. The girl goes to her uncle
to see if he has ever heard of a man who turns into a fox.
Her uncle tells her of the time when he had encountered one
and the bad luck it brought him. Read this book to find out
if she can catch the ghost fox before her mother gets worse.
