The book is
about a video game called Halo. In the year 2050, the recruiters for
the Spartan military recognize that John, a six-year old boy has
exceptional fighting capabilities. He trains his whole life to become
a fighting machine, a Spartan. Now the Covenant, an alien force,
threatens to destroy mankind. The Covenant destroys Earth's space
colonies, trying to find Earth. The humans are losing desperately. The
Covenant is advanced in plasma weapons and tears human spacecrafts
apart. The Spartans are called in to fight against the Covenant. Reach
is the Earth's last line of defense and after Reach is defeated, Earth
is completely vulnerable. How will John, # 117, and his Spartan friends
help Earth? How will they survive? Winter
