I chose this book off the shelf because my sister
Cate told me it was a good book and I liked the first story I read in
it. This book has a series of stories about children's bad habits and
how Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle cures them. Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle got the cures
from her husband Mr. Piggle-Wiggle when he went away. When the parents
seem lost, they call Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle to help them. Her cures are
harmless and they taste like different types of candy so that the
parents don't have trouble getting the children to take the medicine.
Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle cures bullying, whispering, cry babies, showing off
and slow pokes by making the most interesting things happen. For
example, she gives the children whispering sticks and when they try to
talk normally, it sounds like a whisper. Even when they shout, they
still can't be heard.
This book teaches about what people can do when
they work together to stop their bad habits. I wish Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle
lived around my house so that she could cure my knuckle cracking,
don't you?
