This book is about
a boy named Stanley who describes himself as, "a person
who is just in the wrong place at the wrong time." Stanley
is on his way to Camp Green Lake. Everyday the boys at Camp
Green Lake have to dig a hole as big and as deep as their
shovel, but Stanley and his friend Zero get tired and run
away. Can Stanley and Zero uncover the past of this dried
up lake; can they prove Stanley's innocence? To find out read
Holes.
I really like this
book because it is exciting and has a lot of interesting characters,
but it can get confusing. I recommend this book to anyone
who likes adventure books.

Holes
is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats who is accused of stealing
a pair of sneakers. He is innocent, but no one, including
the judge believes how he finds the sneakers. He is sent to
a juvenile detention center called Camp Green Lake. It is
the furthest thing from being a camp. He and the other boys
are forced to dig holes every single day. They are digging
in search of something for their warden.
I recommend this
book even if you have seen the movie. I really liked the book,
even though parts of it are very sad.

Holes
is a great book with a lot of sudden twists and cliff-hangers.
I liked it because of the character development. Holes is
about a boy named Stanley Yelnats who is sent to Camp Green
Lake where boys go to dig holes if they break the law. Stanley
is trying to get out of camp, and get rid of the curse from
his no-good-rotten-pig-stealing, great-great-grandfather.
He makes a friend with a boy who is homeless before he comes
to Green Lake.
To find out about
all the exciting events that happen to Stanley and his friends
at the boys detention center, read Holes by Louis
Sachar.

This book is about a young boy named
Stanley Yelnats. He is accused of stealing a pair
of basketball shoes that were donated to a homeless shelter
by a fantastic player. Stanley gets sent out to Camp Green
Lake (a dried up lake) that is a boys' detention center.
Camp Green Lake is no summer camp. Pretty much all they
do is dig holes and look for something that Kissin' Kate
Barlow, who left Stanley's great great grandfather stranded
with nothing, left in the bottom of the lake when it was
filled with water. Stanley meets a lot of interesting boys
here. Read the book if you want to find out if Stanley digs
up the treasure or if he tries to run away when there is
no water within 100 miles. Will Stanley survive the intense
heat and dangerous sand storms? After you read the book,
see the movie.
I recommend this book to people who
always have water with them because when you read this book
you're gonna be thirsty! I also recommend this book to people
who love a mystery and an adventure.

P. '11 Stanley Yelnats is framed
for doing something that he didn't do and is sent to
Camp Green Lake to hopefully straighten out. While at
Camp Green Lake they dig holes in the desert each day looking
for valuables. In the desert, Stanley meets another
kid by the name of Zero. Zero is actually the person
who commits the crime that Stanley is accused of. Zero
runs away to escape and Stanley runs after him. While
they are away from camp, they experience all sorts of adventures
but decide that they should go back to camp. On the
way back they hide in a hole that has been dug earlier.
In the hole they find a chest. If you like adventure
and suspense, you should read the book to find out what happens
to Zero and Stanley and what is in the chest.

S. '11 This book
is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats. He gets caught stealing
shoes. He didn't really steal the shoes though. He found them
when the shoes hit him on the head. So Stanley goes to this
camp called Camp Green Lake for
his punishment. They have to dig a whole the length of their
shovel everyday in the hot weather!
After Stanley starts to get
used to everything, he meets a friend. Everyone calls
him Zero. Zero then runs away after hitting his counselor.
He hits him to protect Stanley and to stand up for himself.
A couple days later Stanley also runs away. He finds Zero.
Then Stanley learns that the reason he is in Camp Green Lake
is because of Zero. Once they get better they both go back
to camp. They both find out a huge, wealthy secret.

filled with surprise twists and turns along with a great story.
There is a boy named Stanley Yelnats VI. His family is not
so rich and he gets arrested for stealing a pair
of sneakers. His family can't afford a lawyer so he
is sent to Camp Green Lake. Their isn't a lake -- just a dried
up lake bed. He isn't just digging to build character there
is a special surprise at the end. Through this book you will
find that it is a little different from the movie. But you
will still have a blast reading it.

Stanley Yelnats has a history of
bad luck. No wonder he is accused of stealing a pair
of sneakers and is sentenced to spend 18 months at camp Green
Lake, a boy's juvenile detention center. Every day every
boy has to dig a hole five feet wide and five feet deep.
The Warden says it's to build character, but Stanley knows
that this is a lie, and he is determined to dig up the truth.
I rate this book a 10 out of 10 because
it is a very suspenseful and exciting book. I recommend
this book to anyone who like exciting books.

I enjoyed reading Holes by Louis Sachar this summer.
This book was recommended to me by a few friends. I think that
Holes starts off slow but becomes very interesting once all
of the characters are developed. All of the boys at Camp Green
Lake have good sides to them even though they're there because
they have been in trouble. I really like the exciting ending
and how the past and the present are all brought together.

Robby M. '09 Stanley Yelnats is accused of stealing and is sent to Camp Greenlake
to pay for his crime. (Yelnats is Stanley spelled backwards.)
The camp's name is deceiving because there is no lake and
it has not rained in over five hundred years. Every
day the boys are forced to dig holes which are five feet deep
and five feet wide. Little do they know that the camp
warden is actually looking for the lost treasure of Kate Barlow.
Barlow has robbed Stanley's grandfather. She is a notorious
thief and legend has it that she buries all of her loot.
The camp warden believes the loot is buried at Camp Greenlake.
This book is jam-packed with suspense and mystery.

'09 People think a boy named Stanley has committed a crime.
So when he is found guilty he is sent to Camp Green Lake.
Each day the kids at the camp have to dig a hole five feet
deep and five feet wide. There is no lake at Camp Green Lake
and it is miserable for Stanley. He finds out that the head
of the camp is making them dig because she is looking for
something. I think this book is very good and exciting
because it shows the struggle Stanley has at this camp.

Eric W. 08 I think Holes
is a great book! This book is a definite page-turner and there
arent any boring parts. This is a non-stop adventure
book. Holes is a bit confusing in the beginning but
it all makes sense in the end. It is one of those books that
have two stories being told in the same book: an old story
that makes the real story makes sense.

The book Holes is a great book. It includes mystery
and excitement. I really liked it because every page I read
made me want to read it more. I also liked it because it really
tells about the characters' feelings. For example when the
character was sad, I was sad too, and when the character was
happy, I was happy too, and when the character was scared,
I was scared too.
If I were to rate this book on a scale
of 1-10 I would rate it a 9 because at the end of the book
it said the reader had to fill in the holes and it didn't
tell all the facts. It was a really great book, and I do recommend
it!

I read Holes, a story about a camp for
bad boys where digging holes is said to build character. But
Stanley Yelnats doesnt think that. He thinks that he
and the rest of the boys at Camp Green Lake are digging for
something. Stanley hates the camp but not the boys
there. He is particularly friendly with Zero who he teaches
to read - and at one point, even saves his life.
What is the reason for the holes?
If they are really looking for something, what is it? Find
out when you read Holes.

Stanley, a main character in Holes, is
charged with stealing. He was sent to a camp where the punishment
is to dig a hole, everyday, five feet down and five feet across.
Stanley meets a new friend, Zero, who does not know how to
read or write. Stanley teaches Zero to read and write and
in exchange, Zero helps Stanley dig his holes.
One day, Zero runs away. Stanley
goes out to find him. Will they return to camp alive? Read

Holes is his best book yet. It is full of adventure,
mystery, suspense and lots of unexpected surprises. It is
also about loyalty and friendship.
If you like books with sudden
twists, then you should read Holes. I really enjoyed
this story.

I enjoyed the book Holes by Louis Sachar.
It has a well developed plot in which the author fits everything
together. I couldnt put it down (except when I had to
do homework).
It starts out when the unlucky
Stanley Yelnats has a court case filed against him and he
is sent away to camp Green Lake in the middle of nowhere.
I guess that s better than jail, right? Wrong! In punishment
he must dig a hole five feet deep and five feet wide, supposedly
to build character. But he has a hunch there was somethig
else to it than just holes, hence the title of the book.
Stanley suddenly finds the mystery
unraveling for him, but the answers lie beneath his reach.

Holes is about a boy named Stanley who is accused
of a crime that he didnt do. He has to go to Camp Green
Lake for juvenile delinquent boys. The camp is located in the
desert and it is not green at all! Every
day the boys have to dig a hole that is five feet deep and
five feet wide. The mean counselors at Camp Green Lake say
digging is just for discipline but Stanley thinks they are
looking for something, something very valuable, but he doesnt
know what.
If you want a great book that gets really
complicated, then fills in its own holes, read Holes
by Louis Sachar.
