I read a book called Jacob's Rescue,
by Malka Drucker and Michael Halperin. This book is about a boy who is
Jewish during World War II and the Holocaust in Poland.
Jacob lives in the ghetto, but when he is eight
his aunt send him to
live with a family of Poles who aren't Jewish.
Jacob doesn't want to leave his family, but he knows he has to
to be safe. The people Jacob stay with are very nice to Jacob. When
ever anybody knocks on the door, Jacob has to hide in a closet
somewhere in the apartment. The family has to move a couple of times,
because the Nazis find out they are helping a Jew. At the end of the
story the family moves to a little town in Poland, when the Russians
defeated the Nazis and the war is over.
This story is sad in some parts, and hard to believe that some parts
were true. I would recommend this book to people who are interested in
World War II. I would rate this book a 8.5, because it had some
really sad parts in it.

Rescue is a Holocaust story set in Warsaw, Poland during World War II. Jacobs
Rescue is about a boy named Jacob, who is a Jew, and is very wealthy. One day his
father and his uncles leave the family to go to a different country because they
dont want to die during the Holocaust. They betray their family. So Jacob, his mom,
grandmother, aunt, and brother go to a ghetto where all of the Jews are kept when they are
caught, before they go to a concentration camp. One night Jacobs aunt tells him that
he will be leaving to live with a different family. When he does, he has many adventures
with the father Alex, the mom Mela, and the two children named Yurek and Marishka. Some of
the adventures are great. Some are terrible and some are horrifying. This book is a great
book about bravery, courage and helping Jews in the Holocaust. It will really keep you at
the edge of your seat. I hope if you read this book you enjoy it a lot.
