| Reviewer: Willa O. '10 I think
that Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbotson is probably her best book so far. It is
about an orphan girl named Maia, who is living at a boarding school in England. She loves
it at her school, she has many friends, and is very happy there. But one day the
headmaster of the school tells her that her aunt and uncle, who live on the Amazon, are
willing to take her in. She is happy that she will finally have a home, but her friends
tell her awful stories about man-eating crocodiles, and wild Indians. Maia isn't sure if
she wants to start a new life in a place like that...
