Title:  The Kraken Wakes
Author:  John Wyndham
Reviewer:  Ian O. '11
The Kraken Wakes is a story about how the creatures from out of the ocean tried to take over the world.  It is also about how the people and governments of the world react to the crisis.  This whole story is from the point of view of a scriptwriter from the English Broadcast Corporation, or EBC, not the BBC, thank you.

This is how the story develops.  It all started when fireballs were seen crashing into the ocean.  Then a few ships are sunk, nothing that the governments can't find an excuse for.  Then, when sea tanks start invading the coasts, it is time for action.  But the governments who are not in deep water do not act.  They are convinced that they will not be harmed.  Even though Bocker, a scientist, warns them that they will lose freedom of the land, just as they lost freedom of the seas.

Will the governments act in time?  Read The Kraken Wakes to find out!

I would recommend The Kraken Wakes to anyone who likes suspense.
