Last
Shot
is about a boy named Steve who grows up in Philadelphia and
loves college basketball. His dream is to be a sports reporter.
He enters a writing competition during the Final Four of the
NCAA tournament. The winner wins a trip to the Final Four,
and the opportunity to report on the games. Steve wins the
contest, along with his friend Susan Carol. When they arrive
at the NCAA tournament they get to meet all the important
reporters and players. They overhear a conversation between
some players, and learn that Chip Graber, a MSU player, is
being forced to throw the championship. The rest of the story
is about how Steve and Susan try to fix this mess without
any help.
