Title:  Lives of the Presidents: Fame, Shame and What the Neighbors Thought
Author:  Kathleen Krull  Illustrator:  Kathryn Hewitt
Reviewer:   Jennifer S. '10
Lives of the Presidents contains a brief biography of all of the different presidents from George Washington to Bill Clinton.  I learned a lot from reading this book.  The author made it so that you learn true facts in a fun way.  Funny illustrations of each president are included, and they will make you laugh as you are reading each biography.

The facts in this book are not presented like the facts found in other books you read about presidents.  You don’t just read about the normal stuff like when they were born and died; you also learn about things you would never even think about.  I never knew that Ronald Reagan loved jelly beans.  I also never knew that Calvin Coolidge liked to walk around with a raccoon around his neck.  And did you know that Abraham Lincoln had a wart on his cheek, a scar over his eye, and the reason he wore a beard is a because it was suggested by an eleven year old girl? Aren’t these facts interesting?

I would recommend this book to people who want to learn about presidents without getting bored.  Once I read about one president, I wanted to read more and more.  Out of ten, I would rate this book about a nine.
