The Lost Flower Children is about two sisters, Olivia and Nellie, whose mother has died. Their father is too busy to take care of them so they go to live with their great-aunt Minty, who knows absolutely nothing about children. Aunt Minty is great at one thing: gardening. Aunt Minty used to be a famous gardener, and her monstrous garden is the most beautiful garden in the world. Then one day a delicate, fragile teacup appears in the soil under three overgrown irises. The blue teacup looked as if it had been untouched for centuries. When Olivia is skimming through one of the many books in Aunt Minty’s library, when she comes across an old story called "The Lost Flower Children." This seems interesting to Olivia, so she sits down on the porch to read it. The story is about eight children who magically transform into flowers. Someone must find eight teacups and the teapot, which are all hidden, inside the mysterious garden. When Olivia reads this story to her younger sister Nellie, Nellie is determined to free the lost flower children. Do the lost flower children really exist? Will Nellie succeed in finding the teacups? Read The Lost Flower Children, by Janet Taylor Lisle, to find out!
