Jennifer S. '10 The Lottie Project is about a girl named Charlotte, but everyone calls
her Charlie. She has always been the best at everything and everyone likes her.
But when the first day of school comes, things change. Charlie gets an awful
teacher who won't let her sit with her friends and won't let anyone call her Charlie.
She has to sit next to the worst kid in school, Jamie Edwards. Even Charlie's
best friends don't hang around her anymore.
Later in the school year, Charlie gets assigned to work on a project
about the Victorians. She makes up a diary for a Victorian girl named Lottie, who
turns out to be just like herself. This becomes the Lottie project.
While she's working on this project, things at home aren't too good.
Charlie's mom loses her job and she doesn't have a father, so that's a problem.
After a while, her mom finds a job as a house cleaner for a little boy and his
father. The mother of this family ran away. Charlie's mom isn't home a lot
anymore. Could it be that her mom is dating someone? What happens to Charlie
and her friends? How are Charlie and her teacher holding up? Read this book to
find out!
