My name is Elizabeth D., and I read the book,
The Luckiest Girl, by Beverly Cleary.
Shelly gets a chance to go to California for a
whole school year. She goes and is very nervous about starting at a
new school. She meets a girl named Jeannie and becomes close friends
with her. She has her eye on the star basketball player, Phil. She
tells a school newspaper reporter that she likes a basketball player
who sits near her in biology. Turns out, he likes her too. They start
going out, but when Phil fails biology his dad says he isn't allowed
to see Shelly. Will Shelly ever be able to date Philip again? Read the
book to find out.Spring 2004

This book, The
Luckiest Girl, is a book about Shelly, a sixteen year old girl who
lives in Oregon. Shelly gets to spend her winter in sunny
California . Everyone wants to be her friend and admires her cheery
spirit . Shelly learns a lot in this adventure but the hardest part is
having to face all of the sad good-byes.
On a scale from one to
ten (ten being the highest) I would rate this book 9 1/2. I recommend it
to people who like suspense. I think this is one of my favorite
books.
