Julius is excited
about his first day in the 5th grade. He has trouble getting
along with his classmates. He is jealous of a girl named Beatrice
Willingham because she keeps bragging about her life. It takes
time before he realizes that he has to cope with other people
and that other people's lives don't revolve around him.
This is a good,
quick read.

I
read Meet Julius Carmichael by Jonathan Carroll. The
book is mainly about Julius and his first day of school. The
problem Julius has is that a new girl named Beatrice completes
her math quiz in 35 seconds. It takes Julius 15 seconds
to complete his. They get into a big argument because
Julius approaches Beatrice to ask her if she needs help with
her math. Beatrice becomes angry. At the end they
make up and try to be friends.
I recommend this book to little kids and would give this book
a "7" because it is short, but good.
