Lisa M. '08 Mennym's is about a large family of
life-size rag dolls that can move, speak and think. The rag dolls have been living for 40
years and have never gotten older. They were sewn by a talented seamstress by the name of
Kate, who passed away and left her house to the dolls. The members of the doll family are
Sir Magnus, Grandma Tulip, Josh, Vanessa, Appleby, Soobie, Poopie, Wimpy and others. These
dolls don't have money to pay the bills, buy stamps etc.; therefore, the Mennyms have to
work. Working is very dangerous thing because if someone sees the Mennyms button
eyes or stitched hands they will be sent to a circus.
One day the Mennyms receive a letter from Albert Pond, the landlord
of the house. He says he wants to meet the Mennyms. The Mennyms are shocked. What are they
going to do? Read the book to find out!

The Mennyms are a rag doll family who live in their own house
that they took control over after their designer, Kate, died. They have lived in their
house for forty years. There is a mother, a father, a teenage daughter, teenage twins, six
year old twins, grandparents, and a friend, Mrs. Quigley, who is also a rag doll. The
Mennyms have jobs and go to work to pay the rent and bills for the house. They disguise
themselves to the public with scarves and sunglasses, so no one will see that they are rag
dolls. The problem is that their landlord wants to come see
the house. But they cant let him because he will definitely find out their secret.
They have to come up with a plan. They go crazy trying to find a way out of this dilemma.
If they dont, it could be the end of all of them.
