The three Baudelaire orphans, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny move to the town of Paltryville to live with Sir, a distant relative. They are forced by Sir to work for coupons at the Lucky Smells Lumbermill. Like the other employees, the children do not eat breakfast, chew only gum for lunch, and have cold beef casserole for dinner. While working for this guardian, the orphans experience hypnosis and a terrible accident. Meanwhile, Count Olaf, an evil man, is developing a plot to steal the Baudelaire fortune. The orphans have no idea when his evilness might once again threaten their lives. When they encounter Count Olaf, they use their knowledge and skills to evade him. Violet, the eldest, invents useful objects. Klaus, the middle child and only boy, uses his book knowledge. And, baby Sunny bites with her four sharp teeth. Together, they thwart Count Olaf's plan.

The book that I am about to explain to you is very sad and obviously very unfortunate so if you would like a more happy and cheerful book to read, I suggest that you not even read one more word of this summary.  The book that I read is called The Miserable Mill.  If you  know anything about the Baudelaire orphans then you would know that their lives are very, very sad.  For instance, their parents got killed in a fire, one of their very distant relatives (Count Olaf) wants to kill them, and about everyone that they meet dies because Count Olaf wants the Baudelaire fortune (before their parents died, they left a huge amount of money and since the oldest Baudelaire, Violet, isn’t of age to inherit the money, Count Olaf is trying every single way to get his dirty hands on it).  So as you can see, the Baudelaires are very unfortunate but I will tell you this, at the end of every book there is a twist.  I am not saying it’s good and I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m just saying there is a twist at every end of the books in the series.

P.S. Remember, this book is very unfortunate and sad so you don’t have to read it if you don’t want to, but if you do, I have to say that you are very courageous!

Sweaty work, a piece of gum for lunch, being paid with coupons, a hypnotist ... These are just a few of the problems orphans Violet, Klaus, and Sunny have to face in the book The Miserable Mill by Lemony Snicket.  The work is hard and the boss is mean. But the real trouble begins when Klaus' glasses break, and he has to get them fixed -  but when he gets back he is hypnotized! If you want to find out what happends to Klaus, start reading the book The Miserable Mill by Lemony Snicket.

The Miserable Mill is about Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire and their unfortunate lives. In this book they're at Lucky Smells Lumbermill. They live practically in a jail cell and have gum for lunch and a yucky casserole for dinner. Their boss, Sir, promises that he will keep Count Olaf away. But does he do his job?

The Miserable Mill is the fourth book in the series, "A Series of Unfortunate Events." I would rate this book a ten on a scale from one to ten. It is possibly the best book I have ever read. It is funny and mysterious. The Miserable Mill is about three children named Sunny, Violet and Klaus Baudelaire. Their parents are no longer alive so they are in the care of Mr. Poe, who decides where they will stay and how their parents’ enormous fortune will be handled. But it seems that ever since their parents’ death, the children have encountered only bad luck. A man named Count Olaf is constantly trying to get the Baudelaire fortune, and he follows the brother and sisters wherever they go. They are sent to a place called Paltryville to be taken care of by someone named Sir. Sir wants them to work at the lumber company that he owns. Will they again encounter bad luck? Will Count Olaf come? In order to find out, you must read this wonderful and creative book.

The Miserable Mill is a super book!

Sunny, Klaus, and Violet Baudelaire are sent to their fourth place as orphans, Lucky Smells Lumbermill in Paltryville. They are forced to do work in the mill, eat incredibly bad food, and sleep in uncomfortable beds. But, it only gets worse. They find out that Count Olaf is trying to steal their fortune again and is disguised as a receptionist for an eye doctor. His name is Shirley. Count Olaf makes sure Klaus’s glasses get broken so he can hypnotise him each time he comes. Can Sunny and Violet stop Count Olaf from hypnotizing Klaus before it is too late? Can the Baudelaires put a stop to Count Olaf and throw him in jail once and for all? Read the fantastic book The Miserable Mill by Lemony Snicket to find out!
