Gumbo Limbo hammock because they are homeless. Some other homeless people live there too.
There’s a friendly gator, who they name Dunjun, that lives in the Gumbo Limbo pit.
When he gets too big, a man comes and tells Liza and her mom that the gator must be shot.
Liza does not want the gator to be killed because the people at the Gumbo Limbo hammock
think he is their guardian. The climax of the book is when the gator can’t be found.
Liza and her friend, James James, look for the gator in all spots; but the gator cannot be
found. Where is Dunjun? Will he be destroyed?
