Miss Spider's Tea Party by David Kirk is about Miss Spider and her lonely life. Although she is a spider, and spiders are scary, she feeds only on flowers. The other bugs think differently though. Miss Spider has tried inviting the beetles, fireflies, bumblebees, ants, butterflies and moths but all of them run away in mortal dread before she can explain that she eats only flowers. Will Miss Spider convince the bugs that she will do them no harm, or will they stay her enemies forever?

This book is one of my favorite picture books. The words rhyme and the pictures are delightful. I especially liked having this book read to me. Miss Spider's Tea Party is written so that it is enjoyable for a kid but also for an adult. I think that this book would be good for anyone, any age!

Miss Spider is a very unusual spider who only eats flowers and drinks just tea.  All she wants is the company of some insects.  But they are all afraid of her and dare not come close.  Will Miss Spider be lonely all her life?  Or will her dream come true?

I really enjoy this picture book every time I read it.  It is so intriguing how Mr.Kirk tells the story by making it sound just like a poem.  I recommend this book to anyone.
