This book is about
an orphan named Molly Moon and her Pug dog, Petula. They live
in England and find a rare book in the library on hypnotism.
Molly cannot believe that after reading the book she can hypnotize
people! She is able to make people do whatever she wants them
to do. Molly hypnotizes a crowd at a local talent show, which
makes her win the prize of $3,000 dollars. Molly Moon uses
her money to fly to America to see her best friend from the
orphanage, Rocky, who is adopted by a family in New York City.
As luck would have it, the book on hypnotism belongs to a
rich criminal who wants his book back. He is hot on Molly's
trail. In New York, Molly hypnotizes people into believing
that she is a great Broadway star. But, things begin to unravel
when her dog gets kidnapped. What will Molly do? Will she
find Rocky? Will she have to give up acting career?
There is a sequel
to this book called Molly Moon Stops the World.
