Molly's family is from
Russia, and they don't speak English very well. Molly has to make a doll
for school, and the doll is supposed to be a Pilgrim. When she asks her
Mom to dress the doll for her, her Mom makes the doll's clothes like the
type they used to wear in Russia. Molly is embarrassed to bring it to
school. She does anyway and one of the girls makes fun of her. Molly is
really upset; but then her teacher brings up the fact that Molly is a
pilgrim too. Like the original Pilgrims, Molly and her family came to
this country for religious freedom.
I really like this
book and if I had to rate it on a scale from 1 to 10, I would probably
rate it a 9. This book is reading level 2.3.
