This book is about a man named Mr. Popper who
is a house painter who loves penguins. When the famous Admiral Drake
sets off to explore the south pole he broadcasts live over the radio and
sends Mr. Popper a surprise in the mail. If you can't tell, the surprise
changes the whole book. I would recommend this book for anyone because
it is funny, outrageous and informational. I would rate this book a
eight and a half out of ten because there were a few confusing parts,
but besides that it was a great book.

Mr. Popper's Penguins is a good book because
it's different than a regular penguin book. I like when Mr. Popper
trains his penguins to do tricks. I also like how Mr. Popper loves
his penguins so much. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes
funny books.Summer 2003

Nia A. 08 Mr. Popper loves to learn about the North Pole. When he writes a letter to
some explorers, they send him a penguin, named Captain Cook. After a while Captain Cook
gets sad and begins to mope. No matter what the Popper family tries, they cannot find a
way to improve his spirits. Then they figure he must be lonely, and they call the zoo to
deliver a penguin right away. When she arrives, they name her Greta. Soon enough there are
little baby penguins running around the house. The Poppers may love their penguins, but
what will happen when summer comes?
