Carrie Blake doesn’t have the greatest life.
When she is only 15, she gets leukemia -- and if that is not bad enough,
her parents get a divorce while she is in the hospital. Luckily, she is
soon in remission.
Carrie joins a support group at the hospital that talks about having
cancer. While she is there, she becomes friends with a boy named Keith
Gardner. They are both going through the same sort of struggles -- but
then Keith’s illness returns. Unfortunately, the doctors don’t
have a cure for him so Keith has a limited time to live. He decides
that he doesn’t want to be in the hospital when all of this happens; he
wants to be at home. Keith is dealing with his cancer very well. Even
though Keith knows what’s coming, he tries making the best of what he
has still got. Carrie helps her friend as best as she can. She comes
after school to take care of him and stops by his house on weekends.
But will Carrie be able to deal with what’s going on with her friend?
Will Keith’s struggles get worse? Read this great book to find out!
Overall, I’d rate this book a 9. This was a wonderful book to read. I
would recommend it to people who don’t mind reading really, really sad
books. Although, this book is not all sad. There are a lot of happy
parts as well. I hope you enjoy reading this book.
