I read the book On the Far Side of the
Mountain by Jean Craighead George. This book is the sequel to my
book review book
My Side of the Mountain. On
the Far Side of the Mountain is about a boy named Sam Gribley who
lives in a hollowed out tree in the Catskill Mountains. In this book
his young, lively sister, Alice, comes to join him. Alice isn't used
to not having electricity, living in trees, or making her own
food/clothes. It isn't too hard though, after all Frightful (Sam's
pet falcon) is a very good hunter. But will they make it after
Frightful is confiscated? What's more, Alice is playing a game of
"find me" in which she runs away and leaves notes for her brother to
find her! What will happen next? Read this book to find out!
If I had to rate this book from a 1 to ten, (10
being the best) I would rate this book a 10 because it is just the
right length and is very interesting. It is also one of my favorite
books - along side My Side of the Mountain of course!
