This book is about
a boy named Garion who lives in the country of Sendaria. He,
a mysterious storyteller, and his Aunt Pol are going on a
journey. What is this journey about? Garion doesn’t
know. This book is slower than the other 4 in this series,
but you must read it to understand the rest of the series.
The prologue to the book tells you what the series is about.
It explains how the gods created the world, how Torak was
defeated, and the importance of the Orb of Aldur. In this
book, some of the companions on the journey are introduced.
The most important are Silk, who is a Drasnian spy, and Barak,
who is a warrior. Garion also learns that Barak has a scary
curse.
Unfortunataely,
I did not really enjoy this book. It moved a little too slowly
for me.
