This book is the
sequel to The City of Ember.
Now that the people who escaped from the City of Ember are
above ground, they have no idea how to survive. The People
of Ember find out that they have been living underground and
that there are more people than just them in the world. The
People of Sparks also find out that there are 400 more people
in the world now. The village of Sparks takes in the 400 people
just because they feel they need to save the existence of
the human race. After a while, the village leaders decide
that the people of Ember can only stay for six months, then
they must leave. After about two months there are incidents
that happen that make Doon and Lina suspicious. They find
out that Tick is lying about things just to get power and
to start a war. Doon and Lina also find out that war is not
the best choice, and that war is what destroyed the city if
Ember in the first place.
Read The People
of Sparks to find out what happens to the village and
the people of Ember.

The City of Ember
is back; it is no longer an underground city. The people of
Ember now live in the fresh air with the hot sun as light
instead of depending on light bulbs like they were used to.
However, they are not the only ones living there. The People
of Sparks have their own little town with no room for another
400 people. The two cities must learn to work together to
turn the town into one big, successful city. The people of
Ember have never done real outdoor work. Will these two cities
ever learn to come together as one big city? Find out when
you read this book.
The People
of Sparks is the sequel to City
of Ember. I suggest that you read City of Ember
first, to help you to understand the sequel.
