| As a baby Lorelei cries if anything isn't
just perfect. Now Lorelei is older and instead of crying, she gets sick. Since
things aren't usually perfect, Lorelei is sick all the time. Then Lorelei's mother,
Gussie, dies and her father, Sam, has to go away for a little while. So Sam hires
Trudy, a housekeeper, to take care of the house and, of course, his beloved Lorelei.
A few days after Sam leaves, however, Trudy is tired of Lorelei being sick. Trudy
plots an evil plan to get rid of her and it works. This s just what Trudy wants, but
the last thing Lorelei wants. Lorelei gets lost in the woods. Cold, wet,
tired, and hungry she stumbles upon a palace. Hoping for a place to stay and a hot
meal, Lorelei finds herself in the middle of a contest to find a wife for the
prince. Lorelei is not a princess, but she is as delicate and as picky as one.
The Prince remembers meeting Lorelei once before and longs for her to win. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasies. It is a
retelling of "The Princess and the Pea." Even if you didn't like that
story, you will like this book.
