| Title: The
Pushcart War |
| Author: Jean Merrill |
| Reviewer: Hannah K.'10 |
|
It all starts when a
truck runs into a pushcart peddler (on purpose). Later on all the peddlers (in a city in
New York) have a big meeting. Since lots of trucks keep knocking them around, they start a
pushcart war! One of the peddlers has an idea. They can put pins in the truck tires to
show everyone who is making all the traffic. They will put pins through a pea (so no one
would be suspicious) and shoot them like a spitball. What will happen if someone finds out
who's doing it?
It is an exciting and enjoyable book because it was very funny, and it is just like a real
war with different battles and stages. Fall 2002 |
