| Carly Cameron lives in a small Missouri
farming community. Everyone in her family and community hates the Groat family. They
are Confederates from the Civil War and they don't like anyone who isn't a
Confederate. The Groats keep a lot of army guns because they believe that war is
coming any day. No one at school likes Dustin Groat. But when Carly draws his
name for an interview, it changes everything. At first he doesn't seem any better
than the rest of his family, but the more she learns about his background and the tragic
truth about his mother, she finds out that Dustin's only crime is being born into the
