This book is about a town that is taken over by coal
mine workers and their mine. The main character is a boy who lives near the mine with his
farming family. The towns people and the miners hate each other and many fights break out.
The boy makes friends with one of the young coal miners, which really make both sides mad!
I recommend this book to anybody who likes life experiences and hard times. You won't want
to stop reading it!
