I really liked the
book Redwall. It is about a young mouse named Matthias
who lives in Redwall Abbey. When Redwall is under attack from
Cluny, the Scourge, Matthias must discover that the legend of
Martin, the Warrior, Redwall's hero, lives on in him. Matthias
must find the lost sword of Martin. With the help of Brother
Methuselah, Matthias figures out the riddles leading to Martin's
sword. When the final battle rages, Matthias knows it is he
who must face and kill Cluny alone. Read Redwall to
find out if Matthias comes out the winner.
I would give Redwall
ten stars. It is a fast-paced book with a lot of adventures
and battles. I recommend it to every- one. It is also part of
a series. I have read two other books in the series, Mossflower
and Rakkety Tam. Redwall is the first in the series.

The book, Redwall, by Brian
Jacques, is about a mouse named Matthais, and his home, Redwall
Abbey. When Cluny the Scourge, and his army of weasels,
stoats, ferrets, rats, and more, come to conquer Redwall Abbey,
Matthais feels that he needs to find the sword of his hero,
an ancient mouse named Martin the Warrior. The recorder
of history, Methuselah finds some writing behind a tapestry
of Martin the Warrior, which leads to a series of riddles.
The riddles eventually help Matthias find the sword, and save
Redwall Abbey.

Jacques's
many tasks of the mouse Matthias, in Redwall, are exhilarating. As Mattias is
confronted with many obstacles he successfully comes through in the clutch and becomes a
warrior of Redwall.
In one of his tasks he goes on a adventure to find a great warrior's
sword. After Matthias finds the sword a sparrow confronts him and tells him his home,
Redwall, has been taken over by an evil rat named Cluny the Scourge. With this news
Matthias rushes back with the whole shrew nation and a fleet of sparrows. When he gets
there he marches through the gates of Redwall and defeats the evil villain. Sadly in the
battle Redwall's Abbey, the head mouse, has been wounded and is dying. As he was dying he
appoints Matthias a warrior of Redwall. This is an achievement because Matthias is just an
orphan that walked into Redwall from the woods and is trying to become a citizen.
Now he is a warrior.
I like the book a lot because of the great adventures and
achievements that young Matthias experiences. I recommend the book for ages nine and
above.
