Title:  Samantha's Pride
Series:  Thoroughbred Series #7
Author:  Joanna Campbell
Reviewer: Katie O.  '10

This book is about a horse, its two owners, and a girl named Samantha.  The horse's name is Pride.  Pride is doing well in his racing career until his two owners disagree on his training.  As they continue to fight over Pride, he stops winning.  Samantha is a young girl whose father works at the stable.  She knows why Pride is not winning but no one will listen to her.  It reaches the point that Pride's career is so bad that the two owners will do anything to get Pride winning again.  Samantha tells them that Pride is so stressed with all their arguing that he needs some rest.  Samantha tells them that they are racing Pride too much and he is distressed.  Pride is finally given some rest and he comes back to racing better than ever.

I like this book because it is exciting.  I also like it because it is about horses and I love horses!  This book is also special because the young girl Samantha who everyone didn't listen to, is proven right in the end.
