| Reviewer: Rebecca O. '10 I liked this book because it was an adventure, and it
was very suspenseful.
I recommend this book to people who like
mysteries.
This book is about a girl named Nancy Drew, an
amateur detective.
Brother and sister, Helene and Henri Fontaine, come to Nancy for help with a
mystery. Henri tells Nancy that he had painted twelve paintings of a dancer, the
model being Helene. In one of the paintings, Helene is wearing her scarlet slippers,
which have been stolen. When Nancy finds one of the paintings, she finds out that
there are jewels hidden in the painting. Nancy attempts to find the other paintings,
the missing scarlet slippers and the jewel thieves.
