| Title: Sister of the Bride |
| Author:
Beverly Cleary |
| Reviewer: Stephanie
W. '11
The main characters are: Rosemary MacLane ,Barbara
her younger sister, her brother Gordie, Buster his cat, Mr.&Mrs.
MacLane, Greg, Mr.&Mrs.Alrege, Bill Cunningham, and Tootie Bodger.
This book is about all of the preparations for Rosemary's wedding.
They have to find an outfit for that special day. However, that is
only the beginning. Rosemary also has to meet Greg's mother to
discuss the guest list. Rosemary wants to have a simple wedding but
Greg's mother wants a large one. At first Rosemary only wants to wear
a suit but eventually, her mother convinces her to buy a wedding
dress. The bridesmaids make their own dresses. One of many mishaps
occur as Rosemary is putting together her wedding outfit. She has her
Grandmother's lace veil on her bed. Bad Buster, the cat, tears
it to shreds. This is only one of the funny mishaps that happen. In
order tofind out what happens, you have to read this book.
This story is one I highly recommend. I think it
appeals to girls my age because it is set in modern times and it has
great suspense. Once you start reading you can't put it down. Since
the chapters are so long you often stop in a suspenseful spot and
don't want to ever go to bed.
